The troughs don’t weigh much, it was easy for me to load several in to my mini van. However, when filled with water it keeps the horses from moving them around, and the sides are high enough they can’t stand in them. Of course the price was good or I wouldn’t have been shopping here.

Anyways it does have a 5/8″ nut welded to the top. I needed a way to lift it and put it in my 8 ft. deep well house. Got this tank to use as a water transport for new plantings that require more watering than the programmed drip system.
I’ve seen other brands set out in the trash, but I have never seen a Wel-X-Trol set out for scrap. It is important to seal and store water so as to prevent any contamination in it. Otherwise, the water can be chemically or biologically contaminated by bacteria or other undesirable additions.
